Oasis of Hollywood / NOVA Ministries · Serving Hollywood Since 1979
NOVA
nova · /ˈnōvə/ · Latin for new
"A Haven of Hope for Every Heart in Hollywood"
God is making Hollywood new.
Psalm 78:7 · NLT
"So each generation should set its hope anew on God, not forgetting his glorious miracles and obeying his commands."
The word "new" — hidden in plain sight for 47 years.Ezekiel 36:26 · NIV
"I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you; I will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh."
The name was in the scripture before we found it.The Name Was Already There
"new" — Latin origin, a star that suddenly increases in brightness
From the same root as "renovate," "innovate," "renewal"
Psalm 78:7 · NLT · Anchor Verse 1
"So each generation should set its hope anew on God, not forgetting his glorious miracles and obeying his commands."
This verse calls every generation to carry the mission forward — not to hold it, but to pass it. The NOVA season is that handoff, rooted in the same God, the same mission, made new for a new generation.
Ezekiel 36:26 · NIV · Anchor Verse 2
"I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you; I will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh."
This is the promise NOVA makes to Hollywood — not renovation of behavior, but transformation of heart. Every program, every relationship, every meal is in service of this verse.

Empowering generations to follow Jesus.
Vision
A community thriving in faith and hope.
Core Value
Restoring families so they can thrive.
"By 2030, Oasis / NOVA will operate from a permanent, secured community campus — serving two to three times more youth and families through expanded programs, safe recreation spaces, spiritual and leadership development, and sustainable funding. The Question That Matters Most
This is the right question — and it deserves a complete answer. The Vision 2030 fundraising plan is not a wish list. It is a deliberate, diversified system built on five distinct revenue streams that reinforce each other.
A healthy nonprofit is never more than 40% dependent on any one donor, grant, or revenue stream. Vision 2030 builds NOVA toward that standard — deliberately, year by year, through five streams working together.
The Foundation
"Strategy drives messaging. Messaging builds donor confidence. Confidence fuels fundraising. Fundraising funds the vision." — Before NOVA can raise serious money, the story has to be clear, the infrastructure has to be in place, and the ask has to match the evidence.
The capital campaign is the cornerstone. Major donors give when they believe in leadership, trust the plan, and see a clear vision for impact. This is the HOME FOR NOVA moment.
NOVA is uniquely positioned across multiple grant categories. A dedicated Development Director in Year 1–2 makes this stream scalable and systematic.
Local businesses and congregations want to invest in their community. NOVA offers meaningful, visible partnership opportunities with real naming and recognition value.
Recurring donors are the most reliable and most loyal revenue. "Welcome to the NOVA Family" builds this base through story, relationship, and consistent communication.
Earned revenue reduces dependence on donations and creates daily community touchpoints. The NOVA Coffeehouse is the anchor — community engagement and workforce development in one.
Distinct revenue streams — no single point of failure
Maximum dependency on any single funding source
Target annual fundraising growth, year over year
Development Director hired to own and drive the plan
Bold Possibilities
Over the next five years, Oasis / NOVA will prayerfully explore initiatives that could deepen community presence and expand the mission's reach in Hollywood and beyond.
Exploring weekend worship gatherings and the potential rebranding as NOVA Church or NOVA Hollywood — a ministry identity that reflects a new generation and a new season in East Hollywood.
A community engagement hub and workforce development site rooted in Ezekiel 36:26 — creating jobs, building skills, and serving as a daily center of hope in the neighborhood.
A gradual, thoughtful transition honoring the Oasis legacy while embracing the NOVA identity — introduced slowly so the community's heart and head can catch up together.
Expanding collaborative relationships with churches, organizations, and ministry partners across Hollywood and the greater LA region to multiply impact beyond the campus.
Phased Roadmap
Five phases. Five themes. One unbroken thread of mission. Each year builds on the last — so leadership always knows what season they're in and what success looks like.
